FBReader is now available from our site and will be rolled out to the Play Store in a few hours. FBReader Premium 2.7 will be released later this week.

  • A book can be linked to multiple files
  • File change notification
  • Fixed reading progress issue
  • Easy access to books on sd card (in classic library view, bookshelf plugin will be updated next week)
  • Android 6: FBReader opens ePub/PDF files from external applications (not fb2 yet)
  • “Tweet what you have read” link at end of book
  • Fixed large table of contents support
  • Misc fixes in ePub, MS Doc, RTF support

The New Year release fixes a number of annoying issues in both Free and Premium versions. The only new feature is a new option for left (“book”) menu. Material design FBReader and plugins

December 21, 2015

This is the biggest update since 2.0 release. FBReader 2.6 for Android completes transition to material design. We preserved the FBReader rendering engine and other features, but changed the look and feel of controls, dialogs, and other UI elements.

The reading mode menu is now split to left (“book”) and right (“main”) menus. This feature is configurable, user can move items between book and main menus.

Other major changes:

  • Custom shelves synchronisation
  • Fast scroll and alphabetic index in the bookshelf (swipe finger along the right edge of the list)
  • New page numbering algorithm and page numbers in the table of contents
  • Editable authors and tags in the book dialog
  • Simple widgets
